personality is happy and she is the type of dog that everyone loves. She
was easy to train and has a natural instinct to not only retrieve, but
also toss the ball or frisbee right back into your hands. Kamber just won
her first ribbon at a frisbee contest this month and shows a lot of
promise for both a frisbee and hunting career. Her favorite program is
"Ducks Unlimited" on OLN. |

| Comments: | Hi Sherry & Eric: Our new yellow lab, "Gentleman Tanner" (10 weeks old), is a doing so well and is so loved not only by his family but by our whole neighborhood as well. We all cannot believe how smart and trainable he is, not even being 10 weeks old yet. We housetrained him by putting a small bell attached to a plastic chain on our back door. Every time he needs to go "Outside" he goes over and rings the bell! That's a pretty smart guy. And he is so sweet and loving to all of the children when we walk him to the bus stop. The children look forward to his visits every day (bus driver included)! We are loving him more and more each day and cannot wait to show Tanner off when he goes to obedience training soon! | Comments: | Reilly turned 9 weeks old today, and he has made so much progress
already! He's beginning to understand "no" and he sits for a treat. He
even takes it from my hand like a little gentleman. He is really getting
big too! His personality is really starting to shine through. He is
friendly, happy, and eager to learn. Our training is going very well. He
only needs to go out once during the night now, and he has learned to love
his crate. It's his little doggie bachelor pad! At his initial health exam, our vet was very pleased at how healthy he is, and well cared for he had been by his breeder :) Pete and I love coming home to him. We look forward to years of love and memories with the newest member of our family! |

experience was great and very professional. This puppy is so wonderful, we
can't begin to say enough. Eric and Sherry did an amazing job w/her. She
had her first vet check today, and the vet and his assistant were very
impressed w/her excellent health, extreme cleanliness, and wonderful

| Comments: | We were not sure if we wanted a male puppy but Sherry informed us that for the time being that was all that was available. After much discussions we decided to go ahead and take the male. When we received him he was 8 weeks old. From the moment we took him own we knew he was special. He was housebroken in two weeks. (I am serious) He goes outside to his dogrun and goes to the bathroom. He only goes in that area. He has maybe had five accidents in the two months we have had him. He is now 4 1/2 months old and has not had an accident in at least six weeks. We consider him fully housebroken. He sits, gives paw, stays and lays down on command. He is by far the sweetest most loving and adorable puppy anyone could ever ask for. We named him Nike and we could not imagine our life without him. Thank you to Mateer Labs and especially to Rebel and Tara for producing such a wonderful son!! We love him. |

pretty, and the vet said her conformation was as good as a show dog, and

over who she likes better :) Her coat is so nice and soft, she gives lots

| Comments: | I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful grandpuppy I have in Yoo-Hoo Laskey. I am very familiar with dogs and have even worked with a certified K-9 German Sheppard for 9 years while being a police officer. Yoo-Hoo has a personality that is hard to beat. Even though he can be a little ornery he has great heart and instincts. Have taken him hunting once and with a little work he would be a great one. He listens well and stays close. Found what he was suppose to find and didn't chase that big dog that he found with antlers. Came back right away even though he wanted to play with him. Only problem with him is that he lives so far away like the all my grandchildren. Keep up the great work and love that you show with your puppies. Dear Grandma Sherry, It has been so long since I have written to you from Martinsburg, West Virginia. I have just been very busy running, running and playing with my mom, dad and my friends(the neighbors dogs). Just wanted to send you my lastest picture. The bone is from Santa Paws. It is hard to believe that I will be two years old in April. Since I am so smart and full of energy, mom and I are going to go to an agility class for fun. Mom says that it will burn off some energy. | Comments: | We purchased our Chocolate Lab from Mateer 4 years ago. Her name is Dusty Legend and she is the wonderful pet we've ever owned. Dusty is the most loving, playful, and caring dog I've ever seen. She always seems to know if my husband or I or our boys just need a little snuggling. If one of us has had a bad day, she is right there with her big brown eyes loving us. Dusty is especially attached to my husband and my youngest so, Eric. She just seems to know when Glen's car pulls up in front of the house after work. She is right there at the door with her tail going and won't stop until Glen sits down and gives her a belly rub. Then, she can also tell you when Eric's school bus has pulled up a block away at our corner. She is up at the dining room window on her hind legs, paws on the window sill wagging her tail for Eric. | Comments: | I am so pleased to find this guest book because I have so much appreciation to express. I lost my beloved husband of 29 years suddenly in January of 2000. In March of the same year, I had to have our beloved Lab, Cindy, laid to rest. In August of 2000, I decided it was just too lonely without a dog and began to search. I must have called over 50 breeders. Of course, I shared my story with each of them and not one of them said they were sorry for my recent losses. I visited over 20 breeders and was appalled at what I saw and how I was treated. Finally, in desperation, I called my vet and was very suprised that he recommended a breeder in Pennsylvania. I live in Virginia. Dr. Churchill gave me this web site address and the rest is history. Upon emailing Sherry, the very FIRST thing she said to me was that she was very sorry about my losses. I thought, alas, I have found a human being. She did not push her puppies at me. She ask me if I was getting along okay. What a lovely sweet person she is! I waited several months for my precious Henry. Yes his name is "Henry Henry". I couldn't be happier. We couldn't be happier. He has made my life worth living again. Henry is smart, hfit as a fiddle, happy go lucky and beautiful. Sherry is a gem of a person and more of an angel than she will ever realize. Her home is emaculate and beautiful, her puppies are superb and I thank God I found her. Sherry, from the bottom of my heart, I'd like to publically say THANK YOU for my being there for me when I needed a friend and THANK YOU for being my friend and for my sweet, sweet boy. hug her and squeeze her. SHe is really getting the hang of her routine. AT night we take her out then put her in her crate to go to sleep. Last night I took her out and she went then we went inside and then i left to go get her toys so if she woke up in the middle of the night she would have something to play with and by the time i got back she was in her crate asleep. I wish i had the camera. SHe loves to cuddle. SHe also loves the couch and pillows. WHen she has something she knows she isn't suppose to have and you look at her she will put her paws over it so we can't see it but we know its there it is so cute. We are very happy with her. He follows me around, (trying to bite my toes!) while I do my housework, plays in the yard with his new big sister dog, runs and runs, then konks out and takes a two hour nap. When he wakes up, he's raring to go again!!! He swam in the pond for the first time today--just at the edge, but his paws were keeping him afloat. Kody has met everyone in the family and is the new little star, bringing us alot of fun and joy. Now if he could only get this potty training down......... |

She selflessly spent hours with me making sure my puppies would receive the love and care they deserve. She shared the pros and cons of breeding and was always very honest with me. She is so calm and relaxed when we're alone with her or have people visiting. We give her tons of exercise - 2 long walks a day in the woods and she gets to swim on the nice days. We constantly recieve comments from all of the dog owners in the neighborhood - on her tempermant and her shiny coat. Our chocolate lab Gunnar Bodacious, son of Cody and Dakota Dream Dancer, is 14 weeks old today and the light of all our lives. He had a hard act to follow after we lost our last wonderful chocolate lab, but so far has completely won over everyone for miles around and he's never met anyone he didn't like, human or canine (although, one or two cats weren't exactly friendly....). He is such a beautiful little guy! This is an area where the lab is king among dog fanciers and knowledgable lab people stop us to admire him all the time -- we've received invitations to join field trial clubs based on the obvious quality of Gunnar's breeding alone. His temperment is golden; he learned "Sit" at 7 weeks and has quickly picked up everything in "Puppy Class" where although he is the youngest of 7 lab puppies he is by far the star pupil. I would highly recommend Mateer Labs, not only for the excellent puppies but because of the kindness and caring of Sherry and Eric. It certainly is reflected in their pups. |

He has the best looks and temperment of any dog that I have seen so far and many people know immediately when I tell them where I got him that he is a top notch Lab. We have both grown this summer, he has grown in size and I have grown in patience. No dog is easy but it cetainly helps to have good material to start out with. I highly recommend Mateer dogs wherever I go. |

She is so spoiled we bought a king size bed just so she could sleep with us. She is great with the kids, or with any kids, she loves people. She is afraid of other dogs, though. Everywhere we go people fall in love with him and comment on what a beautiful yellow lab he is. He is SOOO smart (sometimes too smart!), talented and easy to train.
