*My Lab Gang Was Last Seen Counter Surfing*

If you are curious about
America's Most Wanted Lab Gang,
also known as the Mateer Labbies,
and would like to know where they live....

You've found the right page.

They live right here
in their Labby room.

This is where our Labbies
eat, relax, play, & sleep
if they aren't in the main
part of the house
or playing outside.

"Hi Mama!"
"It's me, Gabby"....

"Hey, it's snowing out here"...
"Let me in"....

Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java(tm).

It's a very useful room
when wet or muddy paws
need time to dry.

This window is also
my kitchen window.

My kitchen sink
is on the other side
of the Labby room window.

Always having my Labbies close by
is a very comforting feeling.

They have what every respectable Labby needs....

A Labby Switch Plate

A Labby Nite Light

A front door that leads to a deck....
that leads to a swimming pool...

A back door that leads
to a large fenced in play yard.

"A" SPOILED ROTTEN LABRADOR???
JUST ONE LABRADOR????
Oh my, I could never have just one....

Hand Painted Labby Art

Have you seen these guys???

More Labby Stuff

A Labby Shelf With A Radio

A Labby Thermometer & Labby Clock

Nice bright lighting...
So they can clearly see
what they are arguing over
and make sure that no one else
touches their "stuff."

Confucius Says...
"Keeping personal Labby belongings
in individual personalized baskets when not in use
helps keep Labby arguments to a bare minimum".

Wait a minute....
I think I said that.

Nevermind....

The three side windows
look out over
the deck & pool.

It's a really nice view
in the summer.

This photo was taken in the winter
and everything was
snow covered & dreary.

*NITEY NITE*
This is the sleeping area
of our Labby room.

Each of our Labradors has an extra large crate
and a large bed of their own.

Their crates are 40" x 27" x 30".

Each crate also has a crate snuggly.

If the snugglies are being washed,
most of them don't want to sleep in the crates.

I always need to make sure
each Labby has at least two.

Do you think they're spoiled????

Our Labbies that aren't sleeping in the house,
or sleeping in the Labby room
on their beds for security purposes
are crated at 11:00 p.m.

They normally sleep soundly until 8:00 a.m.
which is nice because I am often
up as early as 5:00 a.m.
taking Preschool Puppies out to piddle
and I make puppy rounds at 6:00 a.m.

"Nitey Nite, Guys"

"Mama's tired"

At 8:00 a.m....
They go outside to eliminate
& to run off excess energy.

They return to the Labby room at 9:00 a.m.
for a hearty breakfast of Diamond.
[They think it's yummy]

Breakfast is supplemented with Missing Link.

If I'm even one minute late,
they are all lined up at the back door.

I've learned to prepare their meals
before opening the door.

Otherwise, I am trampled by a stampede
before I can fill their bowls.

A herd of hungry Labbies
is not a pleasant sight.

Muddy paw prints all over my forehead,
is not the most attractive sight either.

Weather permitting....
They go back outside after breakfast
to play until snack time at 1:00.

At their 1:00 snack time,
they enjoy veggies or fruit,
boiled chicken, boiled liver,
canned salmon, sardines, or mackerel,
and a Brewer’s yeast & garlic tablet.

They think that's yummy too.

I'm not telling them otherwise
but I sure am thankful
for Breath Busters....

I give them all a quick inspection.

I look for anything unusual
regarding their behavior or health.

I note who needs nails clipped,
ears cleaned, bathed, brushed, ect.

Then I start delegating responsibilities.

In the afternoon,
they do a variety of things.

Some love to play outside.
Some are relaxing in the house.
Two or three may accompany
one of us to the bank
and beg the tellers
for free biscuits.

We go for long walks, play lots of ball,
and in the summer - they love to swim.

At 5:00 p.m.they have something like
small pieces of cheese or cottage cheese,
peanut butter on whole wheat toast,
(their absolute favorite),
frozen yogurt, or scrambled eggs.

I like to feed them something
every four hours
during the day
to help replace the calories
they have burned.

In the evening,
a few come inside with us at a time
and have some quality doggie time.

We don't do anything fancy
but our Labs are very happy & healthy.

They live a fairly structured life.

I've learned that
my dogs are happiest
when they know
what to expect.

I'm happiest
when my life is organized.

I can watch them
while they are playing outside
or relaxing in the Labby room
on the security monitor
when I'm in my office.

I'm not sure they like that
because I can get to them
in a New York minute.
[What is a New York minute, anyway?]

I don't really know...
I just like to say it.

Every once in awhile
one of the girls will try
the old alpha b---h routine
and I have to remind them
who the numero uno alpha b---h is.
{That would be yours truly}

They are warm & cozy in the winter...
Air conditioned in the summer...
And love is passed out freely year'round.

They have the security & companionship of their pack
and all the human affection they can stand....
What Labby could ask for more?

If my Labbies are driving me too crazy,
I can send them to their room
but still interact & communicate with them.

They can hear all of the activity
that goes on in the house
and still feel that
they are valued members
of our family.

I am often heard yelling out the kitchen window.

"HEY, KNOCK IT OFF OUT THERE"!

Communication at it's best!
