All yellow puppies are born with pink noses.

It takes a few days
for the pigmentation
to come in all the way.

This is not the same thing
as a "snow nose"
which is a black nose
that changes to pink
during cold weather.

It is also not the same thing
as the nose of a yellow puppy
that carries the chocolate gene
in his background.

Often those puppies have
a chocolate nose
or lack pigmentation
and the nose remains pink
which is referred to
as a "dudley" nose.

This page will give you an idea
of how quickly the nose will turn black.

I am always concerned
that when I email newborn photos
to families waiting for a puppy
that they instantly start screaming
"ACCCKKKKKKK"!...."YUK"!.."ICK"!.."ACCCKKKKKK"!!"
